MASHCo Depot Transformation Project – Manchester Airport
Trant were appointed Principal Contractor and Principal Designer for the upgrade and extension to Manchester Airport fuel depot, operated by MASHCo.
Reconfigure and upgrade existing fuel depot.
Trant were appointed Principal Contractor and Principal Designer for the upgrade and extension to Manchester Airport fuel depot, operated by MASHCo.
We utilised our in-house capability to deliver the majority of works including drainage, concrete ring beams and tank foundations, leak detection systems, bund walls and associated bund containment, car parking, concrete roadways and various in-situ concrete structures. These were all designed by our in-house design team.
Our in-house mechanical and electrical team installed the electrical, controls and instrumentation for the system. We also upgraded and extended the existing CCTV system
Our in-house manufacturing team designed and manufactured all above ground pipework, associated pipe supports and GMS stairways. Four Filter Water Separators were also purchased from South Africa and installed by the site team.
Scope Included the following works: -
- Geotechnical Surveys.
- Detailed Design.
- Changes to the depot vehicle movement routes.
- Construction of new Bridger offloading points and a new fueller loading point.
- Connection of the existing incoming product lines to the new tanks.
- Various civil works, including tank foundations, depot yard areas, roadways and pedestrian walkways; floodlight bases and towers, CCTV tower bases and towers.
- Foundations for Operations Building including underground electrical cable ducting and new sewage treatment system for the new building.
- Design, supply & construction of new bund tank bunds and associated drainage systems.
- Two vertical above ground, cone down, fully lined, fixed roof storage tanks, 23m diameter x 15m high for storing Jet A-1.
- Connection of the new tanks to the existing outgoing product lines (to both hydrant systems and sampling).
- External painting of all new (lined) Carbon Steel pipework.
- Electrical power, instrumentation and control system works associated with the new tanks.
- Temporary fencing, design and construction of new access roads, design and installation of personnel access routes at Manchester Airport Fuel Depot.
