We have an immediate requirement to appoint a SHE Manager to be based at our Head Office in Southampton. The SHE Manager will work across each of our sectors (including Process & Water and Energy), and will be responsible for managing a team of SHE Advisors and Environmental Advisors within the business. Reporting to the Head of SHEQ, this role will involve travel to various sites and regional Trant offices within the UK.
We are keen to receive applications from individuals who are currently working in the position of SHE Manager within a civil engineering or M&E environment. Previous or current experience within the water or energy sectors would be an advantage.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to;
Manage and mentor a team of Health, Safety & Environmental Engineers across all sectors who are based of various sites and regional office throughout the UK.
Lead on the implementation, development and improvement of the Business Management System (BMS) relating to safety, health, environment and quality.
Develop and maintain health, safety and environmental standards and ensuring that they are achieved on-site.
Find potential hazards that are not captured in the safe system of works, ensuring suitable and sufficient control measures are introduced to enable a safe working environment for all.
Monitor environmental aspects and impacts within the working environment.
Advise and guide all personnel working on projects with regards to the implementation of the SHEQ policies and procedures.
Liaise with client representatives to establish good working relationships in relation to SHEQ management of sites.
Undertake and review high severity accident and incident investigations, as appropriate, advised by the Head of SHEQ. Implement and monitor preventative measures to mitigate against recurrence.
Develop and monitor key performance indicators across the business.
Set the highest standards of professional conduct, including SHE compliance whilst performing their duties.
Promote and brief the company Cultural Development Programme (CDP) aligned with the CDP procedure as well as the principals of continual improvement within the business.
Provide support and guidance for all 3rd party audits including BSI, ROSPA, Achilles and client driven audits.
To develop and ensure certification to an integrated management system for ISO45001, ISO14001, ISO50001 & ISO9001
Qualifications/Skills;
Essential;
NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent
IEMA Level 3 Environmental Management
CSCS card
Detailed knowledge of ISO9001 : 2015
Recognised accident and incident investigation qualification
Knowledge of working within National Grid projects beneficial but not essential
Preferred;
Working knowledge of ISO14001
Working knowledge of ISO45001
